A little about us, from part of our team…
What can I say about Crossfit? A better question is what can I say about Crossfit Revenge? It has been such an unexpected wonderful surprise in my life. Let me start by saying that even though I’m far from old, I’m no spring chicken either. When I started taking classes 8 months ago, I was intrigued by the more advanced Crossfitters. I thought because I was a bit older than the rest that I would never be able to make the same strides or keep up. Being competitive by nature, I wanted to be like the others immediately. With such a busy schedule, (working and raising 3 children) I couldn’t manage to get there more than 3 times a week. I slowly realized that the progress I wanted to make would come over time as it has. At first when asked what I wanted out of this type of exercise regimen I responded with the typical “I want to be lean and tone”. Now if you ask me, I would tell you that I want to be strong. As I get stronger, the rest falls into place. The amount of support and advice that I receive from the Revenge family is insurmountable. The only way to truly get what I’m saying is to be a part of it.
Besides all the health benefits that came with this commitment, I gained something far greater that I can’t even begin to be thankful enough for. A new found relationship with my oldest child who is now 16. I originally encouraged him to join to supplement his wrestling workouts at school. I wanted him to be stronger as well to be even more competitive on the mats. Three months in, as this is happening for him, I have noticed a special bond that has been forming between us. One that I never anticipated. We never saw eye to eye on many things because I was always being the “bad cop”. That hasn’t changed but at least now we at least we have something in common and something to look forward to together. We talk about the WOD’s, and what weight we should strive for. We laugh about the funny things that happened or was said while we are working out. He seeks me out if he knows I’m struggling to finish my workout and either gives me words of encouragement or playfully taunts me. I do the same for him. They both have the same effect. My favorite is when he runs by me and smiles during the warm up as if I am standing still. I think he may actually like me now…lol
If you found yourself on this site searching for that special life changing workout facility, look no further. This is surely it.
Thank you Crossfit Revenge!
